Anna grew up in the northeast corner of Cass County Michigan and graduated from Marcellus High School in 2001. Growing up in a small community she learned early on the importance of being an active citizen. Whether it was helping with the community Blue Gill Frolic, a project through school, with the Marcellus Fire and Ambulance Department, or during the time she served on the Marcellus Village Planning Commission, Anna was well known in her community.
Throughout college Anna was actively involved with Phi Theta Kappa honor society and with Alpha Phi Omega co-ed Service Fraternity. Through these organizations Anna was able to continue being an active citizen and grow leadership skills. The connections she made in Alpha Phi Omega have continued well into her Jaycee career and in fact led her to the Jaycees. After college Anna came to the Jaycees as a way to continue growing leadership skills and to be involved in her community as an Active Citizen. Alpha Phi Omega Brother Dave Worthams often spoke of the Jaycees and Anna knew that joining this organization would be a great opportunity. In December of 2010 Anna took the New Member Oath under JCI Kalamazoo Chapter President Niki Worthams and her Jaycee career was off to a great start.
Since becoming a member Anna has found a second Jaycee home with JCI Lansing, allowing her to be active in the community where she now works.
